She holds research affiliate positions at the Mayo Clinic and Valleywise Health. She is a licensed clinical psychologist by degree with extensive training in sleep science, health psychology, and behavioral medicine.
Her research program consists of three major arms: (1) evaluate the interactions between sleep and biopsychosocial factors on the development of chronic diseases particularly cardiometabolic diseases and chronic pain across the lifespan; (2) identify and reduce sleep health inequities; and (3) adapt and create behavioral sleep interventions using scalable delivery methods (e.g., smartphone application, online) to reduce sleep health inequities, and prevent poor sleep health and its related comorbidities. Dr. Petrov has received, as a Principal Investigator, nationally-competitive grant funding from the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute, National Institute of Nursing Research, and American Academy of Sleep Medicine Foundation. |
